Helping Hearts & Healing Tails is entirely foster home-based, meaning all our animals live in loving homes rather than a facility. Foster homes are crucial to our success and the well-being of our animals.

Why Foster?

Expand Our Reach: More foster homes mean we can save more animals.

Experience Fulfillment: Fostering is one of the most impactful and rewarding roles in rescue.

Improve Adoption Success: Fostering boosts an animal’s chances of adoption and reduces the likelihood of returns.

Enjoy the Journey: You get to teach your foster animal what it means to be a happy, loved family member.

Responsibilities of a Foster Home:

Create a Safe Space: Ensure a clean, secure, and nurturing environment.

Provide Care and Enrichment: Offer exercise, socialization, and enriching activities.

Practice Patience: Be understanding as your foster animal adjusts to their new home.

Attend Vet Visits: Take your foster animal to any necessary veterinary appointments.

Assist with Documentation: Work with Helping Hearts & Healing Tails to create a bio and photos for your foster animal.

Facilitate Adoptions: Support the adoption process by helping with home checks and meet-and-greets when an application is approved.
